Solar Equipment and Artificial Lawns: Customer Info

We are seeing an uptick in People installing Solar Equipment and or Artificial Lawns to their homes and businesses.

Solar Equipment:

  • Solar equipment can be either leased or bought outright. A typical lease states the user must indemnify for repairs beyond normal maintenance. In either case, check with the Insurance Co. Underwriter on how they want to increase coverage. Some are increasing it by Dwelling/Building limits and others are requesting it to be added by Endorsement. Ask the client if it is attached to the roof or a separate standalone structure. If it is a standalone structure, remember to increase the “Other Structure” limits or by Endorsement. The point being, the Solar Equipment adds overall value to the Risk and needs to be accounted for in the risk valuation. We don’t want to be short changed if the property is destroyed, i.e. fire.

Artificial Lawn:

  • Artificial lawns are still classified under Tress, Plants & Lawns extension of coverage. There are financial limitations for lawn coverage. Most Dwelling or Business policies have a maximum lawn allowance of $500.00 to $1,000.00. Artificial lawns are not cheap, so inquire with the client on costs. The lawn will need to be a “Scheduled Item”. There is a new trend of Artificial Lawns being stolen.

The D&D Project: Wants and Wishes 2017

Here is the latest from Fresno’s D&D Project Committee:

Season’s Greetings from all of us on the D & D Project Committee.  It has been a very busy year for us and now we find ourselves preparing for the Christmas Holidays.  Once again we will be supporting the Children in the Pinedale Community with “Wants and Wishes”.  Our tree is up and each child has a tag with their name, age, size and like hung on the tree.

A green basket and pen will be next to the tree. Please take the ornament and tear off the tag that lists the child’s name and add your name as the D & D giver  and place in the Green Basket.  You have untilTuesday, December 19th at Noon to return your wrapped gifts. Cash donations are always accepted and you can give your donation to any D & D Project member. Please make checks payable to The D&D Project.

Our Back To School Supplies were a big hit. We as well as Zenith, provided most of the items on the school supply lists for Pinedale and Washington Union. They are always grateful.

We will have our traditional Christmas 50/50 raffle and gift raffle right before our Christmas Luncheon on Friday, December 15th.Further information will be sent out regarding this event in the near future.

We thank you for supporting the D & D Project.  Each year with your support we are able to reach out and help more children.  You are the light in the window for many of these families.  You help to make a big difference in their lives!!

Please see Darlene A., Theresa R., Patty, or Richard if you have any questions or if you would like to make a donation.
