Nationwide has shared a claims platform to assist our insured with auto claims should the need arise. Read on for more information and how to:
File an online PL auto claim for your customer
On May 17, we launched new functionality that allows agents to file personal auto claims on behalf of customers using nationwide.com. To access claims service, you can:
- Replace your current bookmark with this link
- Use this same link instead of Agency Claims Desktop to speed things up
Thousands of personal auto claims have been filed on nationwide.com in the last 18 months, and more than 600,000 customers each month have been tracking their personal auto claims online.
Immediately after an auto claim is filed:
- A claim number is generated
- An adjuster is assigned to the claim
- Adjuster contact information is provided
- A link is sent to the customer’s email for claim tracking
The same digital functionality is available to both policyholders and agents.
Here is what you need to file an auto claim:
- Policyholder’s policy number
- Policyholder’s last name
- Policyholder’s date of birth
- Policyholder’s zip code
- Your contact information
Use this link or go to nationwide.com, click “Claims” and then “Start an Auto Claim Online.”
If you have questions, feedback or ideas, please email them to[email protected].
*Harleysville policyholders can use this functionality when states convert to PolicyCenter.
Faster service for customers with small commercial property claims
Commercial customers want to quickly get back to business as usual when they have a claim. Beginning this month, the Nationwide Commercial Property Claims team will begin using new methods of virtual inspections and technology solutions to help them do just that. To expedite contact and communication with customers, and make the inspection of smaller claims more efficient, the Claims organization is introducing solutions for smaller, less complex claims that in many cases will allow us to contact the customer, inspect damage and issue payment much sooner than traditional channels.
Having piloted new claims handling technology, our Commercial Property Phone Operation has seen improved contact and inspection time that has ultimately led to faster payments. Now we are preparing to implement additional virtual and technology solutions for small commercial losses to field operations.
There will be no change to how larger, more complex commercial property claims are handled in the future. Large loss claims associates will continue to personally inspect and estimate large losses on site while general adjusters located across the country will still handle the most severe, complex Commercial Property claims.
